Press Release
The Astra GTC 1.6 Turbo is one which will always be on the list of cars regularly tuned and so Cobra Sport were eager to take advantage of the full tuning potential that this car offers. From the moment the car arrived, Cobra Sport wanted to add something a little bit special, with the de-cat and sports cat options and resonated and non-resonated options, a scintillating soundtrack can be created for those seeking a more powerful sound quality.
The resonated cat-back upgrade provides a softer refinement that raises the game a little, without compromising on day-to-day usability. With the many fitment options available in this model it is certainly possible to tailor the exhaust upgrade to suit your own specific requirements. The Cobra Sport resonated cat back exhaust benefits from a very useful 29% weight saving when compared with the OE cat back system weighing in at only 12.94kg.
The overall exhaust sound design certainly sets the car apart from the non-tuned versions, with the Cobra Sport resonated cat back system coming in at a sportier 4 dB sound increase and the non resonated variant at 6 dB increase, when compared to the standard cat back system. The full de-cat turbo back system increased the sound level at 4,000rpm to 85db, a 10db increase over the standard exhaust system.
